Flu Services

Flu vaccination provides the best protection against an unpredictable virus which infects many people and can cause serious illness and death each year.

This year there are two vaccines, one for the over 65s and a different one for the under 65s. We have been asked to prioritise those patients who are most at risk.

More information about Flu can be found here and about the Flu vaccine here.

There will be a one way system in place please follow the directions from staff and signs.

Anyone arriving for the flu clinic needs to be appropriately dressed to enable an efficient service. You will need your chosen arm ready for ease of access.

All patients need to wear a face covering or mask.

There is a possibility the dates above may change due to delivery of stock. We will be in contact with you if anything changes.

How to decline:
If you don’t want a flu vaccine at all please let us know via AskMyGP or our dedicated flu phone line. This year more than ever, this is very important as vaccines supplies are expected to be in extremely high demand.

Home visits are available – for medically housebound patients only.
We shall continue to offer essential home visits for very frail patients to have their flu vaccinations at home and for those living in care homes.

Home visits are more risky for the staff and patients so wherever possible patients should attend the surgery.

Home visit slots are very limited and so are strictly reserved only for those who physically couldn’t get into a car to attend an appointment with help from a friend, family or a taxi.

Children will be contacted with an appointment slot.
Child aged 2 and 3 and those under the age of 18 at risk will be given a date and time slot to attend. If you can’t make the appointment given please contact us as above.

If your child is eligible to have a vaccination at school, but not otherwise in another at risk group, they should have their vaccine at school, not at the Doctors surgery.
