Need to cancel an appointment?

Please tell us if you can not make an appointment as soon as possible – there is a large demand for appointments for both GPs and nurses and we can offer your appointment to someone else if you let us know. You can do this either on line or by telephone.

Attending the Practice

The Clinician who invites you to the practice for an appointment will let you know how to arrive and access the building. The process is based on keeping patients safe and minimising infection risks for all parties.

When you arrive at the practice please check in using one of our check-in screens or see our receptionists on the first floor.

For full information please read the leaflet via the link below.

What to do when the surgery is closed

Your GP team is responsible for providing care to you during normal working hours – Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm (excluding bank and public holidays).

MEDICAL EMERGENCY: If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 999 or visit your nearest Emergency (A&E) Department, day or night.

Weston Hospital A&E, which is approximately an 8-minute drive from Locking Road Surgery, is open from 8 am until 10 pm, 7 days a week.

When Weston Hospital A&E is closed, the nearest A&E departments are at Bristol Royal Infirmary (Bristol) or Musgrove Park (Taunton), approximately 40 and 45 minutes' drive away, respectively.

When the surgery is closed and you need urgent (but not life-threatening) medical attention, you can see a GP (or other clinicians) via 111 – telephone or online calls are free from landlines and mobile phones. This service is provided by Severnside Integrated Urgent Care Service (previously the GP Out-of-Hours).

To find out more about Severnside IUC and what to do when the surgery is closed, visit the Severnside Integrated Urgent Care Service website and download the Severnside IUC Patient Leaflet.
